Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor known for her performance as the fiery attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an inclination toward acting since childhood and received a Best Actress award at a Maryland high school competition. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. The conservatory in Stratford takes eight people with four females, as well as a few others for a week crash course. She was scheduled to perform in the following season's production was confirmed.
